Hello, I’m Sophia Jihye Hong; a professional English/Korean translator, interpreter,
now married to a Korean guy in South Korea!
I’ve been blogging since 2004,
and now I have a chance to share my stories in Kimchicrew!!
I would love to share some fun experiences on traveling in South Korea.
You can read other posts or hire me through my new WordPress blogs, DinoPhia.com or Jewmoney.net.
First of all, I have to admit I do like spending, or paying my super valuable time to just chat, hanging out with my friends.
But when I do something, it has to be good! and really fun! Like you, I don’t want to just waste my time.
And one of the great memories I have from last year is from the Lotte World in Seoul.
Some people say it is wasting time visiting amusement park, or too many people everywhere,
but I still think it was fun experience to me with my hubby.
Lotte World (롯데월드)
240, Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul (서울특별시 송파구 올림픽로 240 (잠실동))
• 1330 call center: +82-2-1330(Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese)
Jamsil Station (Seoul Subway Line 2 & 8), Exit 3. (Lotte World exit)
At the ticket booth, we bought Daily Passport Ticket which is 46,000 Won (Full day pass).
The full day daily passport ticket includes free admission, most of facilities in Adventure and Magic Island,
not game attractions, some free museum entrance, not all.
I agree with people who says these admission tickets are very expensive, I agree,
Disneyland, so called the dream land, only costs you about $80-$120, so far I remember,
but small tiny Lotte World cost about $50.
But you know, it’s acceptable as long as you have fun there.
Since my husband is Korean, we got 50% off for having a credit card from one of the Korean banks.
I will cover that later, how to get Korean credit / debit card. So you can go Lotte World a lot cheaper, too.
The best day you should visit Lotte World is March 1st, or Sept 1st. It’s just same with Disneyland.
Avoid weekends, school kids, then you will have enough time/space to have fun.
We were there last year, 2013, on Sept 2nd. In the morning there weren’t that many people around.
Still, lots of group tourist. But cute.
Lotte World is divided into two different world. One is Adventure world, the indoor playground.
In Adventure world, you can enjoy shopping souvenir, some facilities like bumper cars, watching parades,
taking pictures in museum, beating the claw machines, laser shows and circus.
The other one is Magic Island, the outdoor playground. This is more like ‘adventure’ part of the Disneyland.
I recommend you go to Lotte World as early as possible in the morning,
then ride every possible thing as much time as you can!

Also seize the moment while you are with your beloved ones.
We tried to do every little thing that could be worthless to over-achiever.
And if you are planning to go to Lotte World at night, (after 4 or 7 pm)
Make sure you ‘like’ and ‘share’ this post from official Lotte World facebook page, so you can get discount.
